Today there is a merging of Old Testament scriptures and New Testament scriptures, words of the prophets, statements of the Apostles, the words of Jesus the Suffering and Reigning Messiah; they all come together both in the morning and evening messages. “IT IS FINISHED.”
“God made you alive in Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having cancelled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross…” (Colossians 2:13, 14).
At the cross, the promises of Genesis, the Lamb of God that came to take away our sin, the suffering Messiah; and the promise of the reigning Messiah, and our hope of heaven all come together. The old is finished, the temple vale is rent in twain, and the new promise of eternal life is bought, paid for, and cast forth into all the world. This is the pivotal point of all history. Nothing has caused more division in the church in ancient times and today than not understanding the covenant, law and grace shift that is discussed today.
