We live in a fallen world where the only hope is the true gospel of Jesus the Messiah being proclaimed, preached, practiced, and positioned first in the life of believers. God gave us an excellent pattern in the Bible.
Acts 2:42-44 —
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common….”
This system worked because of true fellowship. In 1983, Michael Novak, speaking to a Christian audience, said, “Pure Socialism is a system for saints and Democratic Capitalism works because it is a system for sinners.” A pure capital system runs afoul because of the sinful nature of natural man and greed takes over. Christians are caught in the middle between a free-will style of sharing so all will be taken care of as exampled in Acts….
