On the tipping point of history

Jeremiah stood at the tipping point; he offered God’s programs to save Jerusalem and return her to the glory days of David. The city would have none of it. Jerusalem is burning, and famine, sword, and captivity remained.

Rome had 500 years as a world power Republic. By the time of Jesus, 30% of Rome were on welfare and the games were more important than freedom. Rome was “avalanching” into the arms of the Goths.

Today, the United States is standing on a tipping point. Either our leaders can get together for a Constitutional and moral government and work together, or we as a nation will slide into a disaster.

With America standing on the tipping point, what can we do to tip it back toward a freedom-loving Democratic Republic? The thing that will not help is a march on D.C. These marches have little to no effect on government. Each and every election, we need to inform ourselves and vote moral values, not party or personalities. Elections make a difference. The real difference will start around our dinner table, with our family.

America will only be as strong as her families are strong. I can only speak to and for our church: we need to get back to true North and base our family on the Bible. That means a strong daddy that will give his life for wife and children. A daddy that is more interested in food, clothes, housing, and church for his family than he is x-box, football, or hunting. [A] daddy that will teach by example honesty, sacrificial love, hard work, faithfulness, and self-control.

To return to the Bible means a mama that is more interested in cooking good meals, having clean clothes, and a clean house than they are with time to watch soap operas. [A] mama that respects her husband and loves her kids enough to discipline them in and with love. Children in the family are to be obedient and respectful. They are to share in the family work at home, do dishes, take out the trash, clean, and do yard work. The family is a circle with each sharing love and respect to each other, and as it goes around, it goes around again and becomes a never-ending flow of love and respect. Once the Christian family is living in this way, hopefully the secular family will want to copy, hoping to have the Christian family’s success.

Once the Christian family and their neighbors turn to God’s formula for success, they can begin to influence the community, the school board, the moral fiber of the elected officials that must conform to true North or get voted out of office. At this point the families can demand moral and dependable or be voted out of office. The strong community can change the state, and the state can demand the Federals follow true North. It all begins with the family.
