In Search of Freedom
The great quest in America today is financial freedom; many work harder and longer, guard what they have, only to become slaves to money. So many seek freedom from physical slavery today. Never have so many been in physical chains; so many slaves to drugs, alcohol, and sexual addictions. The harder we try, the tighter the chains that bind us. Billions in the world today are longing for political freedom, yet those that have political freedom have become lazy and careless with their blessing, and in many places freedom is slipping away.
Many have never learned that true freedom is freedom to do what you ought to do, not what you want to do. True freedom in every area of our lives comes from Jesus the Christ. John wrote in 8:34: Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin… 36 So if the Son sets you free, you shall be free indeed.”
